In the summer heat there’s nothing quite like a frozen margarita. The sweet-sour combination with the icy edge is a perennial favorite in our house. Follow the recipe below to be ready for a fiesta at anytime.
Frozen Margaritas
You’ll need lime juice, simple syrup and silver tequila. Mix in a large resealable container (large plastic food containers work well) to taste, starting with approximately 2 parts lime juice, 1 part simple syrup, 1 part water and 2 parts tequila. Remember it’s always easier to add more tequila. Place the mixture in the sealed container in the freezer for a minimum of four hours and a maximum of one month. When ready to serve, spoon out frozen mixture into a salt rimmed glass and you’re ready to go. If you’re looking for a quick version you can use pre-made sour mix, but the fresh lime juice really brings the drink to a new level. Enjoy!
